Brookfield East High School is proud to announce that six members of the Class of 2027 have been named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

This year’s Commended Students are:

• Jackson Staehler
• Mohammad Enzi Alvaro
• Elizabeth Lacey
• Suri Hong
• Pavani Gupta
• Nikhil Raj Rajendiran

Approximately 34,000 students nationwide are being named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are part of approximately 50,000 high-scoring participants recognized through the program based on results from the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT.

Commended Students are selected based on a nationally applied Selection Index qualifying score. While they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, they receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise, and some may be considered for Special Scholarships offered by corporate sponsors.

Congratulations to Brookfield East’s 2027 National Merit Commended Students!
